  • This site is very large quantities. While it exhibits art in particular, itself the place and history are an experience that is worth. The architecture of the place will leave you a good flavor of mouth and through its corners you will find amazing details. This enclosure is normally part of the tour to Arrazola, Cuilapan, which is highly recommended and times are suitable to take the advantage.

  • Nice convent to visit, however if you take a ride don't you not happy of the outer part. It is true that it will pay 40 pesos more but it's worth

  • This is a walk that is worth much if you are visiting in Oaxaca. It is 20 minutes from the city. The convent of Cuilapan is famous for being a temple without a roof. It is a place steeped in history and there is a guided tour of the convent. The place is beautiful

  • I like this pleace ..
  • Formerly called Sahayuco, that wants to say foot of cerro. It later adopted the name of Cuilapam Quayugol and Ampa-Valley. According to various etymologies Cuilapan has many meanings: "a place that is on the back" or "water back", other authors attribute the name to the following roots: Cuitla: "dirt" and bread: "on" like "trash or manure"; even place of cocoyoles (fruit characterized by its hardness). Currently in the region of the central valleys of Oaxaca. Leaving the city by Juarez Avenue turn right into peripheral. Road to Zaachila, passing by Xoxocotlan and in it "and" that goes to the right to Arrazola continue right. Imposing ex-convent that its construction began in 1555. 461 years in charge of the Dominican friars. Counts with a chapel open feature of the time currently in ruins. The ex-convent worth knowing it. The view from the part high is unmatched. Still is can appreciate a "tree" of the order initial of the friars Dominican, facing the room "of Profundis". Is keeps the cell where was prisoner Don Vicente Guerrero before being shot. And there is a monument in his honor in the part South of the former convent.
