Andador de Macedonia Alcala, Oaxaca

(4.8/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
A central pedestrian street, Andador de Macedonia Alcala features a lively atmosphere and exhibits the true culture of the city. Traditional well-preserved colonial buildings line the street, displaying a pleasant mix of soft pastel colors. As you walk along, you'll find many restaurants, coffeehouses, museums, and numerous churches-- including the big stone wall of Santa Domingo. Buy a colorful papel de amate (bark paper) painting from one of the street vendors or listen while a group of musicians perform nearby. • Is surprised to see the number of foreign tourists who can one find there, of all ages and nationalities, is a very safe Walker despite what was said in the news once, it feels at home, safety is paramount, there can coexist with the local youth, who by the way is great, is a place which is used for walking and touring galleries , cafes and restaurants but that still retains the ancient and serene touch of people. Does not feel contaminated with the haste of large cities! Traverse it is transported to the time of Porfirio Díaz or before! It is a place where there are many buildings that have their story.

  • Tourist walkway which concentrates several options of restaurants, art galleries, museums, shops and old public buildings.
