  • This space houses a market and craft workshops that will leave you breathless (.. .and without money), but is recommended to get an idea of what. 1. Organization. Theoretically, they are artisan groups from nine regions of Oaxaca for purposes of profit, but without sponsors or brands looking to take ownership of their work. 2. function. Expand the Oaxacan artisan production around the world through its guilds. In the style of the old Italian school. 3 offer. Good prices and enviable quality. The maximum variance between street prices and here is 50 pesos. 4. variety. textiles, basketry, mud, brass, gold, canvas, wood, stone, paper, leather, all materials are treated in such a way that only the Oaxacan reach perfection. 5. comfort. Covered patio + air conditioning = know what I mean. 6. dip. Dozens of us buy and buy without get involved in the processes of our favorite products or ask us about the materials needed to make them. This space allows you to have contact with the craftsmen and even witness how produced it in the workshops. 7. participation. This organization allows you to make personal or special requests to make any product you want, and you go according to your pocket. 8. Security. Many tourists look for shopping our wide without being prey to insecurity, and this place lets you get rid of pressures and concentrate to what coming, have direct contact with the artisans and buy. 9 scope. Apparently, craftsmen who work and sell their products come from different regions of the State, so the economic benefit is diversified in these areas, as well as to ensure the operation of these collective efforts. 10 promotion. To buy handicrafts in this space, we help local artisans to continue producing and to avoid the business disposition of craft production.

  • We actually went to more of the towns where are manufactured and produced all these crafts that present in this place. I was not very surprised pleasantly discovering that many of the parts that you were in the villages, had a higher price than at this place. Nothing is done I just since it seems to me an abuse for people traveling to those places. But speaking of handicrafts Institute it is a beautiful place and you can find almost everything.

Where to stay in Oaxaca

Oaxaca's size and diversity make it an especially good place to find budget-friendly accommodations, in particular youth hostels and family-run "posadas." These affordable options, along with mid-range and boutique hotels, line the cozy streets of Oaxaca's historic center, probably the most convenient area in the city. You can also find a decent range of options just north of the center, in the neighborhoods of La Paz and Guelaguetza.
