The Aqueduct, Morelia

(500+ reviews on the web)
Landmark Tourist Spot
Admire The Aqueduct, a feat of engineering and a popular local landmark. Constructed in 1785 under the instruction of Bishop Fray Antonio de San Miguel, the structure brought drinking water to the city during a terrible drought that lasted two years. The indigenous people of the region built the aqueduct, which measures 1,810 m (5,938 ft) and includes 253 arches. Today, the attractive structure marks out a nice route through town, while its distinct coloration and notable age has an interesting visual impact on the modern town growing up around it.
