4.6/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web
Head into Grutas de Garcia, an otherworldly system of caves dating back some 50-60 million years. The large chambers were first discovered in 1843 by a priest walking up the El Fraile mountain. Up until then, they had remained hidden in a limestone mountain, and submersion in seawater during the prehistoric era has left a wealth of marine fossils on the cave walls. Reach the caves by a five-minute ride on an aerial tramway; or, if you're feeling particularly energetic, consider taking the steep path up to the entrance.
