Grutas de Garcia, Monterrey
(4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Head into Grutas de Garcia, an otherworldly system of caves dating back some 50-60 million years. The large chambers were first discovered in 1843 by a priest walking up the El Fraile mountain. Up until then, they had remained hidden in a limestone mountain, and submersion in seawater during the prehistoric era has left a wealth of marine fossils on the cave walls. Reach the caves by a five-minute ride on an aerial tramway; or, if you're feeling particularly energetic, consider taking the steep path up to the entrance. • If you visit Monterrey you must go Grutas, it ios about 40 minutes from Downtown but it worth go. Besides, you can visit a Zoo on the way
  • The cave is impressive of if. Worth a go if you never came to a few caves. The constructions of stalagmites and estalacticas are amazing. The bad part is the guide volunteer who runs the only focuses on the humorous forms that have the cave and really is not responsibility of the Guide since the guide is lit colors and posters alluding to formations that you impose to discover "The dead hand" are three stalagmites that if tells you what looks like they are the same amazing, but lose the magic the fact strongly suggest what you got to look at, as if the rest were not so impressive. The mostratelo method is medium crude, with colourful posters and shouting. In addition to when it was discovered and by whom the guided leaves everything to be desired. Don't teach you nothing of the formations, geology, made inquiries, etc.
