In the heart of the city, Gran Plaza o Macroplaza combines smaller plazas and lush gardens, iconic buildings, museums, monuments, and pedestrian zones. Walk the streets to see performers, comedians, magicians, masseurs, food carts, and street artisans selling handmade crafts.Iconic buildings here include the city's public library, the neoclassical Palacio de Gobierno, which houses governor's office, the museum occupying the former city hall building, and a 19th century Roman Catholic chapel. The plaza is known for its 70 m (230 ft) tall modern lighthouse that shoots its green light into the city sky at night. A garden, hidden in the heart of the plaza with fountains, represents a true urban oasis.
