2.9/5 based on 800 reviews on the web
Get up close and personal with exotic creatures from around the world at Vallarta Zoo. Different from most zoos thanks to its policy of allowing visitors to pet and feed most of the animals, the zoo offers an experience most family members, especially children, will love. You can pay extra to hold and play with lion and tiger cubs, then roam through the zoo to find plenty of other exotic creatures on display. Don’t forget your camera, and remember to bring plenty of bug spray. Make Vallarta Zoo a part of your Mismaloya vacation plans using our Mismaloya trip itinerary builder.

  • My wife and I have been to a lot of zoos and aquariums around the world but this is the 1st one where feeding the animals is actually encouraged. Bus ride from centro towards Mismaloya beach and then ...  read more »
  • With regard to the variety of animals, is very well, think that has a size suitable to go walking e go observing them different species. You are allowed to feed the animals with food they sell there. However, there is a great BUT: the conditions in that have to them animals from my point of view not are nor good nor appropriate. They are alone and isolated in cages or very small spaces, especially cats come and go by the bars, we note the despair. Some places smell very bad and in the corners of the walls through which passes one, there are cobwebs with very large spiders that seem dangerous. Both conditions of spaces for animals, and the conditions of spaces so people go walking are not the best. There are no tourist guides, species-specific information is out of date, i.e. that one is seeing a tiger and in the information box has information about a chango, etc. To know I think it's OK, but I'll not be back because really hurts to see the majestic animal in such precarious conditions. It seems that what matters is teaching animals to people for profit, rather than having animals in environments suitable for them.
