  • the place is well kept and allows you to live an experience within the tunnels used for mining. by several meters you carry in the tunnels and you explain how they worked in the place. you get to an elevator which still works that you would delve more in mine. even turn off the light so you feel total darkness inside the tunnel. the only detail is that the experience lasts little and besides that no more more than the constructions seen in photos... small groups are better.

  • In my experience as a traveler I have visited mines in Guanajuato which are more fame than anything else, but this mine, Acosta, has definitely been my favorite mine. Along the way they explain the different parts of the mine, including blacksmithing and forge, you learn the jargon of the miners, which is chaise, winch, shot, the levels of a mine, the way they communicated through key morse mines inside. Upon entering the tunnel stops are made every time where the guide explains the life and customs of the miners and their working conditions as well as the historical context in the different historical stages of Real del Monte, in an almost poetic explanation, since as you progress through the tunnel, you will advance in the history of mining. In the end of the tour arrive to where is located the shot of the mine of the difficulty, and you turn off the light... Boo that melloo... is an experience very nice. I want to congratulate our guide, I think is called Fernando, (high morenito slim and thin mustache), explaining everything with great passion, hopefully read this the director of the Museum that you an incentive because few guides displayed such passion and interest to explain and investigate on their own everything related to mining, the best experiences of Real del Monte.
