(4.5/5 based on 800 reviews on the web)
Visit a hilltop basilica overlooking the city to see Virgin of Guadalupe, a sacred work of art and object of Catholic pilgrimage. The aspect of the Virgin Mary reportedly appeared before an Aztec convert to Roman Catholicism in 1531. The Virgin performed a miracle, producing flowers in the depth of winter, and a priest who witnessed the event demanded a church be built on the spot immediately. The current basilica dates from 1976 and displays a striking circular design. • The Basilica is beautiful, both on the outside. The site transmits a lot of local culture. We recommend to visit and off peak hours

  • The sanctuary of Tepeyac is a place which boasts architecture from the 16TH century to the 21st century and that is worth seeing, however, if the riots or dirty and impolite people you don't like, I recommend do not stop there.

  • It is currently visited by more than 12 million faithful each year, reason why it is considered as the second church with more visits in the world after St. Peter's Basilica in the Basilica of Guadalupe Vaticano.La is located to the North of the city, in an area called "Villa de Guadalupe Hidalgo schedule of visits daily from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 pm.y all day there is a priest who performed the blessing of" medals, prints or memories of the Virgin. This is the second time that I visit the basilica since also by second time have come to Mexico.
