  • Enrichment culture of first level and free is what gives this museum which you can reach walking through Avenida Francisco Sosa and bending to the right in the street Salvador Novo. The Mexican artist Alfredo Guati red is the architect of the existence of the Museum where much of his work, as well as awards and recognition to his artistic work is exhibited. The exhibition halls are divided by sections well identified. The garden deserves special mention, enriched with some fragments of poems of Nezahualcoyotl and a sculptural group that professes homage to people who develop the noble work of cleaning, which seems to me a success and has the commitment, respect and humility of its creator. The Museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00 every day of the week. Admission is free and if you want to take pictures is charged a fee. Enjoy the watercolor National Museum. LIFE... is a trip!

  • Mind you, we didn't see any masterpiece but finding a museum dedicated solely to works made with watercolor is already a fact to be commended. In six halls are exhibited several works not only by Mexican artists and international, from pre-Hispanic to arrive at the contemporary. Beautiful edifice, unobtrusive staging, pleasant refreshment. Open Monday to Saturday from 10 to 18 with free admission. In Coyoacan if you have some time and a bit of curiosity ...

  • It is a very original Museum, especially the permanent exhibition is high level. Placid, silent, relaxing garden, is an essential part of the visit. Very nice coffee. It is a place that surprises, relaxes and produces much aesthetic pleasure, extolling the Mexican culture. Highly recommended.

  • Watercolor isn't as popular and this museum is simply a gem among other collections not only for the large size of the collection but varied artists that you will find. The exterior of the main galleries is also very peaceful and there is a small auditorium for showings too.
  • Estate full of watercolors. Free entry.
  • Excellent museum!. The entrance is free of charge and you can enjoy the permanent exhibition consisting of works of Alfredo Gaui, national and international works as well as temporary exhibitions. Eye! for pictures, you need a permit for $50

Where to stay in Mexico City

Head straight to the trendy neighborhoods of Roma or La Condesa if you're looking for an artsy atmosphere--you can find design-conscious hostels and boutique hotels nestled among the many bars, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. For easy access to the city's most beautiful architecture, you can't beat staying in the historical center, although the neighborhood's UNESCO-listing means you'll only find smaller, old-fashioned options there. You can also indulge in a few luxury nights in the fancy Polanco district, or look for a more budget-friendly option in the popular Zona Rosa.
