An 18th century hospital today stands as Museo Franz Mayer, which presents one of the finest collections of decorative arts in Mexico. The art pieces mostly originate from the 16th through the 19th centuries and cover a variety of different art mediums such as ceramics, silverwork, furniture, sculpture, textiles, and paintings. The museum also hosts numerous exhibitions of design and photography. Marvel at the exquisite courtyard garden, featuring a large water fountain as the centrepiece. Take time to sip a coffee while reading a book in the house library, which is home to a large selection of antique and rare books. • Good collection of antiques mainly showing the legacy of Spain in design and decoration in Mexico. It is steps away from the Palace of fine arts so I recommend going if you're near there and have time. The architecture of the Museum is beautiful and I recommend going for a coffee in the central courtyard.

  • I just go and it's a shame. The exposure is the same and takes years... Long lines, too many people, do not have a control, staff super rude, dirty, treat you horrible... World Press Photo I wish I did elsewhere.

  • Very mixed gadgets and artwork. Everything from beautiful furniture at unbeatable silverkreationer to the boards and stuff. Missing thread in the exhibitions. Unfortunately, all of the text in Spanish! No information in English.

  • Muy buenas expos a precios razonables
  • One of the hidden jewels of Mexico City. Perhaps the best collection of decorative arts in Latin America. Superb silver, furniture, Talavera, ivory from colonial period.
  • Impressive marquetry on display. Temporary exhibits on the balcony above a charming courtyard. Was very tranquil in the rain.
  • Very good museum. Take at least half a day.
  • I love this city
