Museo Franz Mayer, Mexico City
(4.5/5 based on 280 reviews on the web)
An 18th century hospital today stands as Museo Franz Mayer, which presents one of the finest collections of decorative arts in Mexico. The art pieces mostly originate from the 16th through the 19th centuries and cover a variety of different art mediums such as ceramics, silverwork, furniture, sculpture, textiles, and paintings. The museum also hosts numerous exhibitions of design and photography. Marvel at the exquisite courtyard garden, featuring a large water fountain as the centrepiece. Take time to sip a coffee while reading a book in the house library, which is home to a large selection of antique and rare books.
