Explore Museo Dolores Olmedo Patino, set in the beautiful 16th century hacienda of Delores Olmedo, a socialite and artist who opened her home and extensive art collection to the public in 1994. Enjoy priceless collections by Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Olmedo herself, contained within this five-building complex. Stroll in the exquisite grounds, as roaming peacocks show off their fanned tails, and native Mexican hairless dogs, or Xoloitzcuintles, enjoy the sun. • Warning: It was closed to visitors. Before trekking there, best to confirm that it has opened again. Trip Advisor wants me to write more, but there's nothing else to say.

  • We couldn’t work out from the website if the museum has reopened or not, but it is definitely (on 6th Feb 2022) still closed to the public. The security guards at the door say they don’t know when...

  • This is my most favorite museum, the grounds are stunning with strolling peacocks and Xolo dogs. The Olmedo museum has the most incredible collection of Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, and pre-Columbian...

  • Still closed due to the pandemic! Looked nice through the hatch in the door though.
  • I wish this was open. Truly a spectacular museum and grounds. Worth the admission ticket and then some. Please re open soon!!!
  • This is such a pleasant place to visit on a beautiful day. I love the gardens and all the animals. The exhibits are thoughtful and a nice size. You can easily see an entire exhibit without losing anyone in your group, and since most are in different buildings, those built in breaks make this the perfect museum for groups where not everyone is deeply interested in art.
  • We visited after a visit to Freda Kahlo museum and will confess that this was way better. It's a little out of the way, but worth it. I feel that this must be included in the must visit places in Mexico. It is full of stuff and has so much more space so you can enjoy at your own pace.
  • Most of Frida’s paintings are here, not the other Museums in Mexico City.
