  • We went on family to breakfast as 11 am some baguettes in Baltasar within the market are the best accompanied by a glass of red wine. The best dessert. Bread with cheese, mascarpone and jam from roses. He is exalted

  • I'm a local. I don't think this place should be considered a touristic attraction. It's pretty dirty and in terms of local prices, this place is not cheap for what it is. Merchants raise prices up to ...  more »
  • The staff is very nice but the place is quite bizarre and little toilet for what I didn't like the place. Despite being a market in which prevail fruit, meats, sausages and other strange products as Scorpions or ants, in the market I saw a cyber, a local sale of electronics, another movie and a Hairdresser.

  • Never stops surprising me, you can always find all these weird local and/or foreign ingredients. You can eat tarantula, scorpion, crickets, snails, crocodile, deer, pretty much anything you might want.
  • Best place in mexico city to buy all sorts of exotic food, seafood and gourmet foods and ingredients. Top notch at very reasonable prices. Be aware, most places take cash only
  • This market is special, inspired in the great market of tlatelolco now has international gourmet food and exotic prehispanic meals. Almost exclusive for chefs now will be a big attraction.
  • Best market in Mexico. Lion, giraffe, cabrito...great mushrooms. Incredible market
  • A classic for foodies in México City. Fish, meat, fruits and vegetables, cheese, etc..All sorts of exotic meats, including lion, ostrich, rabbit, crocodile, et Al. If you are in the neighborhood, don't miss out!

Where to stay in Mexico City

Head straight to the trendy neighborhoods of Roma or La Condesa if you're looking for an artsy atmosphere--you can find design-conscious hostels and boutique hotels nestled among the many bars, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. For easy access to the city's most beautiful architecture, you can't beat staying in the historical center, although the neighborhood's UNESCO-listing means you'll only find smaller, old-fashioned options there. You can also indulge in a few luxury nights in the fancy Polanco district, or look for a more budget-friendly option in the popular Zona Rosa.
