Lago del Bosque de Chapultepec, Mexico City

4.2
#3 of 6 in Nature in Mexico City
Lago del Bosque de Chapultepec sits in the largest city park in Latin America. As an attraction popular with the locals, the lake often has a large number of people, but join the crowds; some choose to rent a paddle boat. You may not want to swim here, however, as the water frequently receives negative reviews due to its lack of cleanliness. The park's other highlights include fountains and museums within close proximity. Make Lago del Bosque de Chapultepec a part of your Mexico City vacation plans using our Mexico City trip itinerary planner.

Take the entrance to the forest that gives right at the Lake, close to the jetty, so this place was the first site that stops me nothing more enter. Personally not much liked since, although usually me love water areas, this in particular quite suspect had a green color. In any case, I have to admit that to be able to rent a small boat for a ride gives you a dot the Park.

The forest is already very beautiful. When it comes on the side, is even more. A beautiful view! There are paddleboats for the ride into the Lake. Worth checking out!

We had such fun on the lake pedalling alongside the other pedalos. Very hard work but so lovely to soak in the atmosphere in this way. Highly recommend. Fun for all the family.  more »

Nice place, the only thing is that there are many traders and aren't so kind. the view is great and the atmosphere of nature helps you to relax.

Nice place to go with family, must consider that it is not the cleanest place but if one of the busiest in the city of Mexico

You can ride a boat and spend a pleasant evening. This dirty, ergo, there is algae, ergo, this green water, not cleaned and caregivers in their ignorance they say so it must be "because the animals that live there as well should be". The boats also need maintenance and cleanliness

Where to stay in Mexico City

Head straight to the trendy neighborhoods of Roma or La Condesa if you're looking for an artsy atmosphere--you can find design-conscious hostels and boutique hotels nestled among the many bars, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. For easy access to the city's most beautiful architecture, you can't beat staying in the historical center, although the neighborhood's UNESCO-listing means you'll only find smaller, old-fashioned options there. You can also indulge in a few luxury nights in the fancy Polanco district, or look for a more budget-friendly option in the popular Zona Rosa.
