  • We might have enjoyed this place more if we had been able to enjoy the rooftop view, but it was full so we sat at an outdoor table. It was enjoyable to watch all the people going by around the Cathedr...  more »
  • It's a restaurant very well located, next to Cathedral, near the National Palace. They have a terrace from which you can see the entire sector. The attention of the waiters is very careful and my dish was delicious: hen in mango sauce.

  • I first found this wonderful restaurant about 20 years ago when I came to live in Mexico City. It became the go to place to take my visitors. It is situated just behind the Cathedral and the ruins. Th...  more »

  • Hard to find the restaurant because it's behind the Cathedral Church and Cars can't get near the restaurant. However, the food is very delicious and you have a nice view of el Zocalo. The price is somewhat pricey, but good quality food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
  • The place, although quite on the expensive side, was very nice. The portions are a bit small and each dish is expensive so expect to order two things per person. The view at night was very nice, and it has a romantic atmosphere, great for celebrating anniversaries or special occasions with your significant other. There was no waiting time even though we went on the day of the downtown parade.
  • Let's start with the positives: the location is great, the building is grandiose and the view at the cathedral is unbeatable. The food does look nice... But: 3 out of 4 dishes served were cold. The flavor was mediocre and the staff forgot to bring napkins and some orders. This mostly spoiled our lunch and should not happen at this price level.
  • Good service, nice menu with exquisite flavors. Very nice site and view from the terrace. SUPER cons: is that the best place of the restaurant, the terrace, is allowed to smoke. That was very disappointing if you come with children, but not only for them but also think if you want to have a nice meal smelling all the smoke from others.
  • A bit on the expensive side. A nice bar street side and leafy rooftop restaurant overlooking the templo mayor. Good food and drinks. What the hell, you're on vacation. Go for the medical cocktails downstairs.

Where to stay in Mexico City

Head straight to the trendy neighborhoods of Roma or La Condesa if you're looking for an artsy atmosphere--you can find design-conscious hostels and boutique hotels nestled among the many bars, restaurants, cafes, and galleries. For easy access to the city's most beautiful architecture, you can't beat staying in the historical center, although the neighborhood's UNESCO-listing means you'll only find smaller, old-fashioned options there. You can also indulge in a few luxury nights in the fancy Polanco district, or look for a more budget-friendly option in the popular Zona Rosa.
