  • I love the building. It is calm and oeaceful after the cacophony of the street vendors outside. I have come twice to this museum and always admire the Cuevas exhibits and permanent collection. However...  more »
  • In the street of the Academy, between trade established and itinerant is located this museum dedicated to the work of the painter, sculptor and cartoonist José Luis caves. The building-is worthy of admiration and its origins date back to the year 1600, an excellent state of conservation of the same is patent and on the second level there are remains of the original paintings that decorated it. The exhibition-in the central courtyard is huge bronze sculpture that, with its eight meters high and its eight tons of weight, well lives up to its name: "La Giganta" (work of José Luis Cuevas). On the second floor there are various showrooms where in addition to the work of José Luis Cuevas, also are works by other artists - currently a very complete Laura Quintanilla, formed of painting and sculpture-. It is advisable to enrich itself culturally, it is interesting to know the proposal of who is considered to be one of the representatives of the "rupture generation" with Mexican muralism. Tips: On the ground floor there is a library and the entrance has a cost of $10.00. Taking pictures is allowed. Enjoy your visit. LIFE... it's a TRIP!
