  • It only a short drive from Merida, or a few hours from Chitzen Itza. Less crowded, it is just as good. It shows the Mayan culture at its peak - allow a good 2 hours.
  • A real charm to this site done off-season... Nothing spectacular but the natural décor generates a feeling of nature and size... To go to the cenote the ballad is nice and you get free access to a "hammock" area... Nice everything!

  • The site, a real city, is well preserved and provides an excellent example of how were laid out the areas rich of the Mayan cities. Really nice views. Not to be missed. Go with a guide who can explain all the details.

  • The most beautiful maya ruin in Mexico, in my opinion. The temples are beautifully decorated. I recommend a guided tour so you can understand what you´re seeing.
  • Much better experience than Chichen Itza, no vendors trying to sell you everything, no crowds and you get to climb all over the ruins. You get to feel like an explorer venturing to the back of the park where almost no one goes, with hard to navigate terrain and ruins that are tricky to find.
  • Amazing! Big and way more quiet than chichen itza.
  • Uxmal is a beautiful ancient Mayan City. The buildings and stone carvings were absolutely astonishing. Our tour guide spoke fluent Mayan and had 40 years of experience doing tours through these ruins. If you want to record video (like with a GoPro, not just still photos) they make you pay a $5 fee; I was told that's a federal thing. Highly recommended, just don't try to bring little ones in strollers because the site has a lot of high incline steps and is not wheelchair friendly.
  • One of the best archeological sites in Yucatan. Not so many people in the morning. Highly recommended!
