Paseo de Montejo, Merida
(4.5/5 based on 1,900+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll down the pedestrianized main avenue of Paseo de Montejo, taking in the wonderful European-style architecture of the mansions, local street performers, and impressive artworks. The avenue makes a good spot for peaceful people-watching, or an afternoon amble with a tasty ice cream. Stop for a coffee and watch the daily activities, or peruse one of the museums on the strip. Bring some water and sunscreen along with you, as there isn’t much shade to be found on the avenue. Use our Merida holiday planner to arrange your visit to Paseo de Montejo and other attractions in Merida.

  • The walk was very boring, there are a couple of nice mansions but nothing that desserves a 30min walk bellow the sun, at the beginning of the street are the 2 nicest mentions, I would no do again nor ...  more »
  • Paseo de Montejo is the most important avenue in the city of Merida, during the greater part of the journey is possible to admire the colonial architecture in the different constructions. Located very close to the city centre and you can walk it or through carriages (horse-drawn carriage) rides that depart from the Center. I recommend to visit the place at night, during the day the heat can disadvantage a little walk. Similarly, it is important to mention that Sundays a route of Paseo de Montejo is closed to make way for the "Earth". It is a good opportunity for biking outdoors.

  • This street is divine, for both day and night (it is very safe). If you have chance to get a "Mockingbird" experience that you have to live ever in your life haha Don't forget to make a stop in the famous super sorbetería
