Witness centuries of opulence at Museo Casa Montejo, a historical mansion in Merida's old town. Before its conversion to a museum in 2010, the 16th-century building was for generations a residence of the Montejo family, Spanish conquerors of the Yucatan Peninsula. Admire the well-preserved facade, ornately decorated with reliefs portraying conquistadors and members of the powerful family. Explore the interior, which houses period furniture and decorations in Neo-Renaissance, Neo-Rococo, and Victorian styles.
