Malecon, Mazatlan

(4.4/5 based on 1,700+ reviews on the web)
Take a stroll along the 7 km (4.9 mile) Malecon, a water front esplanade that showcases the city's culture. Observe the day-to-day life of the locals, vintage American cars, and well-weathered hotels. Couples visit the seawall to take a romantic walk, and artists and philosophers can appreciate the area as well; people-watch is a prime activity. Be sure to bring plenty of water if you're wandering in the heat of the day; once the day winds down, consider grabbing a beer and finding a good spot to sit and watch the sunset. Malecon is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Mazatlan Edition.

  • Along its beach in general quite care and clean. You can see in some parts the fishermen selling their products fresh out of the sea. Very cool for a walk to the sunset or in the morning. With the breeze of the sea

  • Take some time and stroll along this beautiful area--sunset is especially spectacular. I have only been there in Feb. (when there weren't crowds as in this picture).  more »
  • Nice to start the day with a walk/run down the Malecon. If you go to the sign for the Aquario and back it's about 3 miles. Very sunny and comfortable at 8 or 9:00 in the morning. It gets the body movi...  more »
