El Faro Lighthouse, Mazatlan

(420+ reviews on the web)
Lighthouse Tourist Spot
Casting its light for 48 nautical km (30 mi), El Faro Lighthouse represents one of the highest operating lighthouses in the world. Situated at 157 m (515 ft), visitors commonly hike to the top of the hill to admire the view across the ocean and surrounding mainland landscapes. Grab a refreshment from the top of the summit after your walk. The lighthouse was built in 1879 on landmass that was once an island of its own. Once the bulb is switched on, witness its strength--equivalent to the light of 600,000 candles. • Excellent view of Mazatlan, was a good exercise but only lasts 20 minutes, it is not as high as you would expect nor is Mazatlan so you will have the best possibly view
  • A big climb. Worth it for the views. Keep your eyes out for the feral cats that live on the mountain.
  • Amazing view of the city, port and ocean . But I took by bike with me and I had to carry it 350 stairs . Must visit while in mazatlan
  • Hard to climb, but is worth the view :)
