El Faro Lighthouse, Mazatlan
(4.4/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Casting its light for 48 nautical km (30 mi), El Faro Lighthouse represents one of the highest operating lighthouses in the world. Situated at 157 m (515 ft), visitors commonly hike to the top of the hill to admire the view across the ocean and surrounding mainland landscapes. Grab a refreshment from the top of the summit after your walk. The lighthouse was built in 1879 on landmass that was once an island of its own. Once the bulb is switched on, witness its strength--equivalent to the light of 600,000 candles. • It is an adventure to climb cerro de creston to visit the lighthouse. Very important to have excellent physical condition to walk uphill until you reach the top of the Hill. View of the city and surroundings is amazing, more than compensates the tired walk. the visit to this place considered the lighthouse top of the world is forced and highly recommended.

  • It is one of the best views to the Pacific Ocean. The tour is pesadito by the rise, but above all by the intense heat that was in October with 30 degrees C. I recommend you bring insect repellent, sunscreen. There is a section to shorten the road; but the truth do so only with people who know the route, because but may be lost as us hehe because there was much Bush, when we were on the verge of throwing in the towel we met people who were better located the area and continue with them :D Back we took long but safe route.
