  • It is not a typical big and huge archeological site but it is very well preserved. The trail is great, not so tired but eventhough it's an affort to go up. It's a good excursión. It would take about t...  more »
  • According to the myth, Malinalco was founded by Malinalxochitl, sister of Huitzilopochtli and feared sorceress. Malinalco, name nahuatl meaning "place of twisted grass", is unique in its genre, the Cerro de los Idolos, has pre-Hispanic buildings carved into the rock of the Hill. The most interesting building is the home of the Eagles and Jaguars, identified by its interior decoration that relates it with the Eagle Knights and the Knights Jaguar Warrior orders the building consists of a basement of two bodies with a staircase flanked by ridges, on whose sides are the remains of two sculptures depicting seated Jaguars , your door represents the maw of a snake with the language bifida carved in the floor. The inside is circular, with a stool around and carved in the same rock, next to the home of the Eagles and Jaguars there is a structure formed by a rectangular Hall and one circular, connected each other by an opening in the wall. To get there is a staircase and beautiful view of the Valley is incredible. Then go to eat in the Street Warrior there are several restaurants at good price. The visit to the convent is already forced to majestic. On Sunday there is a flea markets that sell food, bread, wood handicrafts.

  • It is incredible the history that keep these archaeological vestiges, was where the Mexica warriors were educated, it Eagle and jaguar, and the only Temple monolithic in Latin america. If we had to climb 400 steps to get to, but can be done little by little. don't forget to visit him.

  • It is a magical place which is accessed by a stone staircase through which you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the area and the people as you're climbing. There are many explanations concerning the area and general information about the archaeological site in each space. A place really cool you have to know if you are 100% Mexican.
