Balandra Beach, La Paz

(4.8/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Step onto the otherworldly shore of Balandra Beach. Enjoy views of the striking blue waters set against the desolate and dramatic landscape, highlighted by beautiful rock formations and soft white sands. With shallow waters stretching out well beyond the shore, the beach offers swimming conditions suitable for even the youngest members of the family. The remote beach has little in the way of amenities, so bring plenty of water and food for a picnic, as well as some bug spray and a camera. • Balandra is a site to behold. This is the place that my husband and I got married 8 years ago. There is a very large beach with many palapas to rent. When the tide is out, the water goes forever and o...  more »
  • Balandra is a magical place, since its colors, sensations, textures and overall its paradisiac landscape. I worry a bit that is becoming a very affluent place of people, I think it is easy to conclude that that is happening: it is a unique place and that should be visited.
