Create an itinerary including Balandra Beach
Step onto the otherworldly shore of Balandra Beach. Enjoy views of the striking blue waters set against the desolate and dramatic landscape, highlighted by beautiful rock formations and soft white sands. With shallow waters stretching out well beyond the shore, the beach offers swimming conditions suitable for even the youngest members of the family. The remote beach has little in the way of amenities, so bring plenty of water and food for a picnic, as well as some bug spray and a camera. • Incredibly beautiful and peaceful since only a limited number of people are allowed in at a time. We arrived on a Sunday at 11:20 am for the 12:00 pm entry. There were 12 cars ahead of us and about 40 behind us. Most people gravitated to mushroom rock but we decided to cross the entire bay to another beach. We were alone and saw a green eel, several fish, and a beautiful heron. There is a small arch across the bay as well. I hope to return some day and highly recommend it. Shuffle your feet. We saw two sting rays.
  • They only take 3 different times a day, first is between 8-11/11-2/2-5. I drove there as early as 0745 and there already was a big line but no biggie it was quick to get in,not sure what the others were saying but it was totally free, but they'll only give you 3 hours. At 8 the water was a bit cold and windy by 9 it turned out just like the ones in the pictures The clear turquoise color was very beautiful. It's so shallow that you can walk from.one side to another and see fishes down below. It was just beautiful,i enjoyed every bit of it.
  • One of the best beach I have been to, the water is crystal clear. The beach is up to knee height so you can walk out for a bit. The water is very refreshing even in November. There are a few umbrellas but it’s first come first serve. Some can be rented but not really worth it. There is no restaurant and 1 toilet so be prepared. We brought our own snack and spent about 5 hours here relaxing.
  • It’s definitely a beautiful beach and place to go. I just don’t give 5 stars because it’s a bit of a hustle to enter there and it’s a short time you’re allowed to stay after so much effort. Due to COVID they are only allowing 280 people to go inside. There are 2 possible timings, either from 8am to 11am, then you need to leave and second group entering as from 12pm to 3pm. We got there around 11:30am and there was already a line with 50 vehicles, including a few vans. But we made it to enter. It’s not a beach to swim (really shallow) but it’s definitely very pretty. But as it’s one of the main attractions in La Paz, I think it’s a must, even with all struggle you have to go through.
  • Very beautiful beach and surrounding scenery. We got there at 0900 and were told at the gate that need to leave the beach by 1100. Apparently everyone needs to leave the beach at 1100 and come back at 1200 if you want to stay longer. But no guarantee if there is a spot left. We did go back again but we thought it was waste of time and gas waiting in the line in the car in the hot weather 😅
