Market history

The story of the Mercado started on november 21st from 2010 as a result of a small group of neighbors of La Cruz and their concern on how to catch the flow of tourist every year that visit Bahía de Banderas.

This is how Mercado Huanacaxtle was created, since then, every sunday there is a great festivity Marina Riviera Nayarit, that becomes an opportunity to have a good time. At the market, you can find a variety of handmade products: from bread and organic vegetables, dressings, marmalaids, walking through cloths, sorroungs, bikinis, mexican carpets, ceramic, jewerely and even paintings and batiks and last but not least, the famous choripanes, mixiotes, quesadillas, fruit & fresh beverages, pizzas and paella.

In this seven season we are already more than 180 stalls, all facing to the ocean.

Mercado Huanacaxtle starts every sunday from nine am to two pm. Beginning the first week of November until the last sunday of April. There is live music and many surprises for kids. The ambient is that of festivity without missing the novelties.

We are working with some workshops for the community in general and remodeling public spaces like parks and sport areas.

We are interesting in supporting projects that bring benefits to the community.

  • This market is almost overwhelming it is so big. It starts in the downtown area and then runs all along the malecon along the marina. Tons of local vendors with "stuff" to buy or local foods to eat...
