Musa Museo Subacuatico de Arte, Isla Mujeres
(3.3/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Admire art 8m (28 ft) below the water's surface at Musa Museo Subacuatico de Arte. The underwater museum, known locally as “MUSA”, was built in 2009 and is dedicated to attracting divers who would otherwise flock to the endangered Mesoamerican Reef. Exploring the underwater museum, you can marvel at more than 450 life-size statues, made from marine-grade cement that promotes coral growth. View the eerie statues, modelled on the residents of a nearby fishing village and depicting satirical scenes, or observe the Volkswagen piece that lobsters have made their home. Plan your Musa Museo Subacuatico de Arte visit and explore what else you can see and do in Isla Mujeres using our Isla Mujeres tour planner.

  • It is an incredible experience, nothing to do with what they had done previously in snorkeling in the parks, do it in the open sea is a true experience of being in contact with the turtles fish reef is beautiful and arriving at the underwater Museum is truly impressive and interesting. totally recommended

  • We have never done such a lousy Snorkel tour! The Museum of underwater archaeology is worth absolutely not - few creepy characters that just stand around in the water & all equal to aussehen...wow. This "great trip" was really well sold us in our accommodation. Snorkeling on 2 spots (a "reef" and the Museum of underwater archaeology) incl. drinks and fruits. It was but just for the cat and I could upset every other day, we did that. 'Reef' was completely unspectacular, the statues are still much unspektakulärer and then we had TO put on even life jackets... Oh and drinks + fruit consisted of a gammel-water cans and a half watermelon, we told us with another 15 people... The €35 were kicked clearly out the window!
