3.3/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Admire art 8m (28 ft) below the water's surface at Musa Museo Subacuatico de Arte. The underwater museum, known locally as “MUSA”, was built in 2009 and is dedicated to attracting divers who would otherwise flock to the endangered Mesoamerican Reef. Exploring the underwater museum, you can marvel at more than 450 life-size statues, made from marine-grade cement that promotes coral growth. View the eerie statues, modelled on the residents of a nearby fishing village and depicting satirical scenes, or observe the Volkswagen piece that lobsters have made their home. Plan your Musa Museo Subacuatico de Arte visit and explore what else you can see and do in Isla Mujeres using our Isla Mujeres tour planner.

  • we visited on a snorkeling tour and although it was kind of cool to see, you cannot truly appreciate it. its about 25-30 feet deep, so floating at the surface u cant get a good view.
  • We snorkeled here and we were able to see the statues, but I think diving is the way to go. We weren't able to see details or too much because we only snorkeled.
  • Is a very beautiful experience to swim among reefs and. see fish and turtles in their natural habitat
