Stroll through the colorful and bustling streets of El Centro, and enjoy an ice cream or cold drink as you explore the heart of Isla Mujeres. The colorful painted shops, decorated with mix-matched ceramics and full of vibrant clothing, make great photo material, so bring a camera. Stop at the plethora of ice cream stops, cafes, and restaurants, take some time to enjoy the cuisine, and take a moment's rest from the infamously busy landmark. Make El Centro a centerpiece of your Isla Mujeres vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Isla Mujeres itinerary planner.

  • Everyone trying to sell you their goods and more! Awesome place to walk through but beware of the golf carts, taxis, mopeds.
  • Many shops and restaurants, typical of the region. Trade without any major attractions, but where it is possible to shop around for bargains, if you have the patience to haggle. If you speak in Spanish and/or say is Brazilian, prices fall quickly. Don't risk talking in English, under penalty of not getting discounts. Safe to walk. In one of the corners, there's an excellent jewelry stores made with coral, whose name I can't remember and whose owner is Mr. Joshua, extremely nice and excellent negotiator.

  • Area typical directed all to the tourism, retail and restaurants to stop with a traffic intense. It iterates snowflake time.
