Captain Dulche's Museum, Isla Mujeres
(4.2/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Learn the history of this island in the Mexican Caribbean at Captain Dulche's Museum, a maritime and local history museum dedicated to the founder of the island. Walk through the thoughtfully arranged museum, seeing naval tools and artifacts, scale models and photographs. Head to the projection rooms to watch video footage of divers Jacques Cousteau and Ramon Bravo exploring the marine environment surrounding the island. If inspired, pay a visit to the bar on a boat bobbing just offshore. Order the fish tacos and a cold beer, then take in the scenery from the comfort of the deck. • We hunted this place down, and finally found it. We wandered around the place, and there was no one there. If there is a "museum", we failed to find it. We walked up to the bar, which was very cool lo...  more »
  • We have gone here for the sunset and drinks but in March of 2016 they were not open at that time of day. Very strange. Very nice place with a ship bar. Maybe check hours before you make the drive.
  • We planned our stop at Captain Dulche's on our way back from Punta Sur as we had enjoyed it last visit. This visit only drinks were available, and we were expecting food. Still a beautiful place, just...  more »
