  • The museum and ruins at the Copalita Ecological Park are quite informative about the history of the area in and around Bahias de Huatulco. But the very best part is the "mirador" (view) from the top....  more »
  • Great place to learn some ocal history and there are lots of paths to explore. English on the signs in the museum buildings would have been a great help.  more »
  • Copalita is one of the smaller archeological sites in Latin America but is still worth seeing. There is a small museum with explanations in Spanish. The rest of the site is a walk around flagstone or....  more »

  • This place is a very good place to go to if you love history and invest in some really good bug spray. The information plaques are both in Spanish and English so you can more easily understand what your reading. The artifacts are quite interesting and the buildings are in quite good condition. The lookout is well worth the extra walk. My only complaint is that part of the park was closed so the loop to the lookout and back turned into a return trip instead.
  • We dragged our feet before we got here. Shouldn’t have. It’s a beautiful park and you should set aside 2-3 hours to see it. Very friendly personnel and if you like to you can hire a guide. We didn’t. We were planning to come back with some friends and do it again with a guide but unfortunately that did not happen. Oh well next year. Part of the park is a bit steep so be prepared.
  • Not bad place to visit whole thing takes about two hours and cost is 80 peso for gringos and 60 for locals. The ocean look out is awesome but stay away from number 8 site nothing at the end of the path except for a bench but there is large Copa tree about half way which was pretty cool.
  • We got to see a lot of birds and lizards and a couple of sneaks. The trees are gorhous and there are many hawks. All in all- really worth it
  • An interesting Zapotec ruin. They are still uncovering this impressive site on the Oaxacan Pacific Coast.
