Maguey Bay, Huatulco

(3.8/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Maguey Bay attracts tourists with its vivid local culture, unusual gastronomy, and calm clear waters at the far end of the beach where you can snorkel. Have a shot of mescal to work out an appetite, and then stroll along choosing cuisine from the busy seafood shacks here. The nearby Punta Maguey provides a good scuba diving site with tropical fish, walls, and caves. If you wish to spend the whole day hanging out with the locals, put up your own tent or simply mellow out on patio chairs while sipping a cold beer. Amenities include public showers and restrooms. • Took a cab from La Crucecita to Magey cheap easy and quick. Spent the day there swimming, snorkeling, people watching, walking the beach and snoozing. Arrived at about 11 a.m. and took a table at the ...  more »
  • A must to visit. There is snorkeling and food available. Some vendors approach you but they leave when declined. Food was good at the restaurants we tried. Price is right.
  • Other beaches just as nice...all the boat tours come here and so the food at the beach is mediocre to poor. Other nicer beaches with better places to eat/drink.
