Maguey Bay, Huatulco

3.8
#6 of 11 in Nature in Huatulco
Maguey Bay attracts tourists with its vivid local culture, unusual gastronomy, and calm clear waters at the far end of the beach where you can snorkel. Have a shot of mescal to work out an appetite, and then stroll along choosing cuisine from the busy seafood shacks here. The nearby Punta Maguey provides a good scuba diving site with tropical fish, walls, and caves. If you wish to spend the whole day hanging out with the locals, put up your own tent or simply mellow out on patio chairs while sipping a cold beer. Amenities include public showers and restrooms. • The beach is 15 minutes (by car) of the little cross and the hotel zone. He went many times to Huatulco and had never been to this beach, I went in the month of June with my family. We went in the morning surprised the beach is very nice and there was almost no people, so we had the beach practically for us. The best way to get to this beach is by car or taxi (these last are well regulated and have base rates that should respect everyone, so they will not surprise them). We were in a palapa only a while, eat something light and drinks, prices are in general that there is in all the bays at Huatulco. Found me not very excessive. If you go to Huatulco and you have free time, visit this beach, but not as a compulsory stop, there are other beaches nearer and more accessible.

  • I was a few hours in this Berry and really no enthusiasm me. At noon came a boat to go do snorckeling and the air smelled ugly even is for a short time the Berry is full of restaurants with good food, a little more expensive than in the village.

  • What in Huatulco all the bays is that more people are. We got a tour by catamaran. The food is quite expensive and at all times people to restaurants to sell you things, hard and enjoy your meal. As all the bays of Huatulco beach is very quiet and clean. I do not think this Bay a must, they can save it.

Where to stay in Huatulco

The planned resort region offers a large selection of accommodations at surprisingly budget-friendly prices. Stay near Marina Chahue for the best access to boat tours, Santa Cruz Huatulco for proximity to the nearby national park, or the main township of Crucecita to be surrounded by the most convenient amenities. For something a bit quieter and more focused on the beach, look slightly north to Tangolunda.
