Yalahau Lagoon, Holbox Island

(3.9/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Swim in a cenote at Yalahau Lagoon, where you can actually observe water coming out of the ground to make the pool. The crystal-clear water only makes it easier to see straight to the bottom, or traverse the wooden walkway that surrounds the lagoon for views and photo opportunities. This site is only reachable by boat; try to visit in the morning when dolphins gather here to eat. Make Yalahau Lagoon part of your personalized Holbox Island itinerary using our Holbox Island itinerary planner.

  • The port had been closed several days and that the day we had a lot of people. According to the Manager of the place never had had so much public in one day but it is a nice place to relax and wait for their healing properties to take effect

  • It is not the most beautiful cenote in Quintana Roo, but it is certainly super refreshing to spend time swimming in it after a tour around the Islands. Evil is difficult and/or expensive to find who take you if he is not on tour, but is worth knowing and eat fish there!

  • Very nice if rustic, you like although I had great, the best time is in the whale shark season. Highly recommended to rent a bike to go round the island next to the beach!
