Museo Casa Diego Rivera, Guanajuato

(4.3/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Learn about the life of one of the country's most treasured artists and thinkers at Museo Casa Diego Rivera, set within the painter's family home. Born with a twin brother in 1886, Rivera lived in this house for the first six years of his life, before his family relocated to Mexico City. The ground floor has been made to look as it did when the Rivera family lived here, while upper floors contain permanent collections of the artist's work, including preliminary sketches. A collection of photos of Rivera with his wife, painter Frida Kahlo, offer a particularly candid exploration of the life of the artist. • We weren't that familiar with the work of Diego Rivera but learned a lot from this exhibit, even though most of his own work there are sketches and unfinished works. Beautiful home also.  more »
  • A beautifully restored early home of The Rivera family. Many drawings, painting, prints, sketches and sculptures. Well worth visiting.  more »
  • House itself unremarkable but Rivera's collection of works (including sketches and studies) by other artists (Atl, Siqueiros, Orozco) very interesting.  more »

  • It's an interesting glimpse into the early life and work of Diego Rivera, but far from the best museum on the planet. The price of admission is cheap, so it's worth a visit.
  • I'm really not into art by I am into history. A trip back in time and I am sure the art was excellent as well.
  • It is a magical place

  • I liked the Museum House is large, you can find works of the artist at an affordable price, I recommend you bring student credential to make them discount.
