Santuario de Cristo Rey, Guanajuato

4.5
#3 of 7 in Historic Sites in Guanajuato
Admire the artistry and poignancy of Santuario de Cristo Rey, a religious sculpture set in a scenic spot. Sitting atop a mountain, the 1944 statue of Jesus Christ replaced a smaller version destroyed by bombers during the anti-religious regime of President Plutarco Elias Calles. As such, it has come to symbolize religious freedom in the country, serving as a reminder of the secular/sectarian Cristero War of the 1920s. Displaying a striking art deco style, the monument attracts visitors with its aesthetic appeal, as well as its message. Well if they will go on their own perfect, but if they will take a careful tour will be by a very long way having others and don't forget to send lead them to eat at premises where there are various people selling the same meal but they demand to be in the position that they want to give them Commission and that is not worth since the food is not included in the tour so that are free sit wherever you want so I did in fact I made words with the Guide because I am not going to stand or tight just because they give your Committee, it is unfair to all the empty positions and where the said there was no seating, so you decide. In what refers to the place is impressive to see the Christ could not see more since rained and is nublo easy was 5 degrees in the July is that it is very high so they wear sweater.
