Teatro Degollado, Guadalajara

4.7
Step inside Teatro Degollado, one of the best-preserved theaters in Latin America, and marvel at the grandeur of its exterior Corinthian columns and interior red and gold design. Designed in neoclassic style, the theater is known for its diverse range of performances and its artistic design. The theater has shown performances ranging from cultural Mexican dances to international operas. Make sure to see the various frescoes, murals and artworks throughout the theater’s interior, including the ornate wooden eagle covered in gold leaf, or the mural representing Dante Alighieri’s fourth song in the Divine Comedy. • Not much to say. Nice building. Good place to take a couple of pictures and keep going. There is a guided tour inside which I don't think is worth it.  more »
  • An extraordinary combination of instruments Pop accompanied by guitar Pavlo and the Philharmonic, really a great concert, just a detail in order to improve and to represent our country, awarded a guitar made by hands Huichol (beautiful e impressive), was unemotional delivery as the message of the representatives of the theatre and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Jalisco does not speak English and the entire message of thanks to Pavlo gave it in Spanish, stayed without having understood not only the appreciation but the origin and meaning of the present.

  • As a tourist, we went to a symphony performance here and it was great. Spanish guitar music was excellent. The performances are often later in the evening (8 or 9 pm) so it is a good way to relax after a day of visiting the city. Check the website information on performances. Very good for the price. The teatro itself is pretty, but not a "must see" if you are thinking of visiting just to tour the building. If you do want to just see the building, I believe they offer tours during a couple hour window during the day.
  • Amazing art work and entertainment
  • Excellent theatre. A magnanimous resinto to present national and international events. It is compulsory to take a picture in this place of great history jalisciense.

  • An old and beautiful, theater stairs, their apartments, their boxes. The only thing I don't like are these chairs so uncomfortable. It has a beautiful architecture.
