The House of our Lady the Virgin of ZAPOPAN, is an ancient temple with many details to appreciate, I recommend you to visit it with time to enjoy the temple as well as talk with the Virgin. It is very crowded on Sundays so it is best to visit her during the week to not find it very full.

Come on 12 October at the pilgrimage to Zapopan is another world! This tradition of carrying the Virgin of Zapopan home after walk visiting parishes throughout the State of Jalisco in a year is a real religious Odyssey! During the history of Guadalajara Cathedral to the Basilica of Zapopan vives everything! you see everything! you walk and incredible thing... hold the walk even if you do not have condition! This centuries-old tradition is a unique attraction, I recommend it!

This church, located in the Zapopan district, is one of the most beautiful churches I've seen thus far in Mexico. On the day we arrived, they were preparing for a funeral so it was interesting to see how they did it based on their custom. The architectural detail outside is amazing. Along side of the church is the center district with many small streets filled with businesses and places to eat. The cab fare from the expo area cost 130 pesos.

Where to stay in Guadalajara

If you want proximity to historical attractions and convenient access to public transport, you'll be able to find something to suit any budget downtown, with the central thoroughfare of Avenida Juarez offering perhaps the widest range of options. Slightly southwest of the center, the neighborhood of Ciudad del Sol also offers a good selection of budget-friendly options, while in the southeast, Tlaquepaque--formerly a city in its own right--features some fancier hotels in a more relaxed setting.
