  • It is a pleasure to look at as thousands of people still have a little bit of hope that things can change. This can be seen in the romería of the Virgin of Zapopan where the fervor is skin-deep.

  • If you're a believer in the Catholic religion, the Virgin of Zapopan is one of the most miraculous of which are in Mexico, and even if not this professed religion, devotion and love which is shown to this figure is incredible. Don't forget to admire the beauty of the architecture of the Church and enjoy the square.

  • It's a beautiful old catedral and there is generally some dancers, artisans or activity happening on the plaza in front of the Basilica. There is a small huitchol museum too.  more »

  • This church, located in the Zapopan district, is one of the most beautiful churches I've seen thus far in Mexico. On the day we arrived, they were preparing for a funeral so it was interesting to see how they did it based on their custom. The architectural detail outside is amazing. Along side of the church is the center district with many small streets filled with businesses and places to eat. The cab fare from the expo area cost 130 pesos.
  • Was here in 2011. Very nice and calm place.
  • Cool basilica. Excellente museo de las Huicholes indigenas in the building.
  • this is a really beautiful Catholic Church every stone is placing a perfect setting this Catholic church has a lot of detail
  • Enjoyed myself

Where to stay in Guadalajara

If you want proximity to historical attractions and convenient access to public transport, you'll be able to find something to suit any budget downtown, with the central thoroughfare of Avenida Juarez offering perhaps the widest range of options. Slightly southwest of the center, the neighborhood of Ciudad del Sol also offers a good selection of budget-friendly options, while in the southeast, Tlaquepaque--formerly a city in its own right--features some fancier hotels in a more relaxed setting.
