Robert Brady was an American with love to the arts who fell in love with Cuernavaca and resided in that city since 1959 in what was the Tower Observatory of a former Franciscan Seminary. It acquired more than 1000 pieces of art which are exposed such as the left them in what was his home. Puppets, old Cristina, paintings, rugs, tiles, ceremonial figures. A different and very interesting visit that is worth much. Closed Mondays and have to make appointment.

The House of Robert Brady is definitely one of the most beautiful Cuernavaca, not only by the incredible architecture, but by the invaluable collection of objects it contains. A place that you can't miss if you come to Cuernavaca!

Worth, something different than usual and super neat! We liked more than the Palace of Cortes. It has a very large variety of objects from all over the world and if same House and its garden are already worth!

Amazing museum which gives us an idea of the way Robert Brady saw the world. He loved the world culture and he spent his life collecting beautiful pieces of art, that now became pieces of the human history too.

Don't miss it. So much US/Mexico history of the 1940s-70s in this museum. Don't miss the Josephine Baker bedroom. (Baker and Brady were pals and he built a special bedroom for his diva friend). Plus, major gay history that the museum quietly overlooks: He was probably (OK definitely) gay and has many tributes to his partners in the house. It's incredibly beautiful and constructed from a former convent (yes, start singing "Climb Ev'ry Mountain.")

I know it's a cliche - but if you only do one thing in Cuernavaca, make it the Robert Brady Museum. Stunning.
