  • It is not an imposing archaeological zone like Tulum, is in fact quite small and is on the side of the road without any signage. However, a guide explained to us the importance of this building and told us that sometime in Cozumel many more were. The ancient Maya used these sites as alert in the event of a hurricane, apparently when it blows very strong wind in the island at the top can hear a beep that would give notice of hurricane winds. Very interesting

  • Construction of the ancient Maya. Functioned as a lighthouse sound to warn the proximity of thunderstorms to the Mayas who made pilgrimages to its pyramidal temples.
