Cenotes Tamcach-Ha & Choo-Ha, Coba

(4.7/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Dive into the crystal blue waters of Cenotes Tamcach-Ha & Choo-Ha. Stalagmites decorate the cave walls of this natural underground swimming pool, twinkling in reflections from the water below. Once thought by the Maya people as gateways to the underworld, these caves make a memorable place to swim and snorkel, with a shallower cenote creating a perfect place for little ones to play. The rock formations in the larger cenote even provide you with diving boards of 5 m (16.4 ft) and 10 m (32.8 ft). The local community have maintained and protected the area; before you enter, use the showers to wash off any man-made chemicals so as not to contaminate this delicately balanced environment. Keep cash handy for the entrance fee. Cenotes Tamcach-Ha & Choo-Ha is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Coba Edition.

  • A gift of nature is beautiful cenote Tankach-Ha. The adventure began crossing 6 km on the quiet streets of Coba, bicycling. Surrounded by a wonderful nature, and fund a natural lagoon. Arriving at the place, the welcome of its people is cozy. This cenote is underground, to get to it must get by a beautiful staircase snail-shaped, counting 55 steps to reach a beautiful landscape. A completely crystalline cenote where you can see the bottom, and a few blue nuances that make you fall in love. Climbing look can only observe beautiful stalactites, like cauliflower, whitish rock formations. You walk by a small bridge or dock to give you features that you're in a cave! And in the deep cenote of Coba. Already when entering the cenote, the water is very cold but your body fits and you can only enjoy swimming on those calm blue waters. It is a wonderful and unforgettable experience! Nature has blessed our Mexican lands.
