Cenotes Tamcach-Ha & Choo-Ha, Coba

Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 320+ reviews on the web
Dive into the crystal blue waters of Cenotes Tamcach-Ha & Choo-Ha. Stalagmites decorate the cave walls of this natural underground swimming pool, twinkling in reflections from the water below. Once thought by the Maya people as gateways to the underworld, these caves make a memorable place to swim and snorkel, with a shallower cenote creating a perfect place for little ones to play. The rock formations in the larger cenote even provide you with diving boards of 5 m (16.4 ft) and 10 m (32.8 ft). The local community have maintained and protected the area; before you enter, use the showers to wash off any man-made chemicals so as not to contaminate this delicately balanced environment. Keep cash handy for the entrance fee. Cenotes Tamcach-Ha & Choo-Ha is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Coba Edition.

  • On another trip I did the tour for a few cenotes Xcaret group and really enjoyed it. But this time we were alone and it was wonderful, these cenotes are near the archeological zone of Coba, the ticket is cheaper than doing the tour, you can stay as long as you want in each cenote. And they are simply magical. The water is cold, but to enter peacefully. Recommend!!!

  • The experience, to be able to swim in a Cenote is one that I don't want to miss. The Cenote is compared to others surely rather small, but no less impressive. A cave where I can swim in warm, clear water, where there already? Fabulous. There is also nothing but the Cenote, no kiosk, no store, not a restaurant, it is very pleasant. Yet only 4 instead of 5 points, because the sanitary facilities (shower + toilet) urgently require an overhaul.

  • For 250mex $ brings you the taxi of the ruins to this cenotes and back. The cenotes are within 100 metres of each other, but my advice is visit first the smallest, least impressive, Choo-Ha. Then you can then all take time to visit the slightly warmer Tankach-ha. Here you can by two diving platforms in the dark but clear water jump. Because the water is so clear, you can assess during the fall when you hit the water, best special. Swim what little black fish, and occasionally bats fly high above you.
