  • ►Esta archaeological site is one of the oldest of the Mayan world, its history goes back to the year 300 A.d. It is not very extensive so your visit is dynamic and fast. Buildings and plazas are well marked. Pyramidal structures (which are not very high) can be scaled. ►Imperdible look out of one of the two ancient tombs (which are open and available to watch. In addition you can admire original frescoes of the time and the syncretism of a chapel of the dawn of Christianity in the area. ►En Oxtankah environment can be seen examples of flora and native vegetation of the Caribbean rainforest that, in several cases, are identified. ►Por be an area smaller, the price of entry to Oxtankah is accessible (and there are discounts for INAPAM, masters and students (with current).) Recommendation: wear repellent mosquitoes, bottles of water to hydrate. Both measures will appreciate them being there inside :)

  • Visited it since we were about to Calderitas, and saw that it was the entrance to the archaeological site, is 15 minutes or less of malecón of Chetumal, is a different archaeological, it boasts the remains of a Spanish chapel in addition to several structures of the time, with a very nice and easy to navigate place

  • The ruins of Maya is not the most impressive. Need you be more reconstructed. Very friendly staff at the entrance. But the ruins are not very large and are neglected.
