  • A very nicely presented exhibition, with very good explanations. However, there are not to many real Maya items in here.  more »
  • I honestly didn't expect much from this little museum, but it blew me away. We stopped there on our way from Tulum to Calakmul. The whole architecture of the museum is built according to the tradition...  more »

  • Cool little museum in Chetumal. Not a ton of artifacts but they do have scale models of the main pyramids in the Yucatan for comparison. Does have a very good walk through the different Mayan periods.
  • Its sad that even the astonishingly the Maya culture was and is at present, this museum has a very poor collection and presented with no effort or interest, all of this a reflect of the importance the culture has to the actual goverment! And its not necessary that this museum need to present ancient items, still they have the opportunity of creating a present times exhibit but failed big time, just dissapointing!
  • Got some really cool things inside, just wish they had ac but other than that I enjoyed it.
  • Something to do in the city. Decent exhibits, and lots to see as you walk around. It helps if you understand Spanish. The best thing about it is the air conditioning.
  • The exhibition perfectly complements the already seen Mayan culture panorama .
