4.4
#9 of 36 in Historic Sites in Jalisco
Historic Walking Area Tourist Spot
Stroll along Chapala Malecon for a cultural and lively atmosphere accompanied by picturesque lakeside views. Manicured gardens, palm trees, fountains, and various artistic monuments line the pathway. Small colorful boats fill the harbor while fishermen sit on the piers' edge. Watch for local vendors selling candy, dried fruit, and handcrafted items. You can grab a bite to eat at one of the nearby restaurants, which typically involves some freshly caught fish and a free local beverage of tequila or wine. The promenade is especially pretty as the sun sets over the distant mountain skyline. • Great place next to biggest lake in Mexico. Plenty of food to be found and Micheladas sold everywhere! Plenty of little stands to buy yourself a souvenir or candy. Good place to go and relax the only complaint is the parking. Go early otherwise you will have to park on the neighborhood side streets.
  • Great place to walk around and view Mexico's largest lake plus do some local shopping.
  • Beautiful place to walk before the sun is up or after the sun is down. Take the boat ride and go to the scorpion island.
  • We loved the place people are so nice and the lake tour was good.
  • A great place to go with family , a good place for interacting with people also like the good snacks and. A lot of snaks to
