  • I was remiss in reviewing this wonderful site after our Spring 2015 visit (April 2015). Four US-based adults spent an informative 2 hours learning about natural dyes, watching weaving, and viewing the...  more »
  • We once again visited the House of Abigail Mendoza, and frankly it is still one of the best cooks of traditional Oaxacan food, besides that the treatment is very fraternal, they make you feel at home. The only thing is that he is recommended to make reservations since it can not find food since they make just for that book, but you can always have luck. Don't open on Mondays, and is only from 1:00 pm to las4:00 pm

  • In Teotitlan del Valle, there are several communities and cooperatives of Indians who work in a self-sustainable way, continuing its tradition of pottery, textiles, etc., with a wide variety of popular and artistic expressions. We visited a cooperative of weavers who make a complete demonstration of the process of carding, spinning and dyeing of wool and woven on antique looms, works are beautiful and they are done with the same old ancestral techniques. Only 40 minutes from Oaxaca, is a visit not to be missed! We went as part of a tour of the Agency San Tours going also to Mitla and boiling water. Highly recommended!
