#1 of 16 in Fun & Games in Cancun
Take a ride on colorful "trajineras" (rafts) as they carry you down the canal at Xoximilco Cancun. Declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, this site represents the last remaining body of water in an area rich with the country's indigenous history. As a visitor, you can sign up for a boating experience steeped in culture. The attraction offers authentic mariachi bands, traditional dining, and dancing, all from the boats as they carry you downstream. I mention our experience on the evening of the sixth day of visit to Quintana Roo in the Xoximilco Park. As we were staying in Cancun's hotel zone, and while we had a rental car, we decided to enjoy the evening without license, because we knew that the fun involved alcohol. We then take a bus (R1 or R2) that 1 dollar or 10 MXM per person left us on the Av. Tulum. From there we saw a station of buses, at the box office we ask about a bus that leaves us in the Park and we were told they were not, then asking and wondering we finally arrived at the bus station which is about 4 blocks from where left us the bus; These groups are going to Playa del Carmen but can make stops in the Xoximilco Park, then we are dealing with it, it took 10 minutes to fill and then another 20 minutes to get to the Park. We arrived just in time, however we do not consider that there are many traditional activities that can be made and not enjoyed as there was nobody to enter before entering the trajineras and they told us to run to catch the trajinera. Once installed there began the fun! There was food, music, dancing, drinks and liquors. Until I tried the famous chapulines!. There is an interlude during the activity where you can keep on dancing since at the pier there is a band playing music of all kinds! Return, and as I desire to trust with the other friends of the trajinera, ask a couple of Ecuadorian friends that carried car and that they were also staying in Cancun that give us a lift. Thank you Edgar and Jennyfer!

Great and different adults attraction in Cancún where you get a ride in a boat - trajinera- for 22 people seated around a table plenty of typical food and drinks of Mexico. The captain and the entertainer keep your trip fully of music, food and laughs. You meet people and dance on and off board.

Tons of fun with the opportunity to interact with others who are on vacation. Great music, a light four course meal, and endless flow of tequila. Don't forget to tip your guide.

It was decent, but it was more of getting drunk than explaining the story of Mexico

If you want to experience Mexico for the night life and party the night away, this is definitely the place to go. It gave an authentic feel to the trip and meeting locals that were enjoying their night there. Worth checking out!

Where to stay in Cancun

Cancun's accommodations cater to everyone from spring-break partygoers to distinguished luxury seekers. By far the most densely developed area for hotels is the boomerang-shaped Punta Nizuc-Cancun and the connecting Bulevar Kukulcan, projecting out into the sea and offering prime beach access. Among the stylish resorts, you can find expansive party hostels offering large swimming pools. If you'd like a more independent Cancun vacation, consider staying at one of the private rentals scattered along the coast.
