  • You have to try Mercado 28 at least once. It is all touristy souvenir stuff and jewelry but a fun haggling experience. The busses are easy to take there but they no longer stop right at the market... ...  more »

  • Local market in Cancun. A lot of souvenirs and authentic Mexican made goods. There are multiple places to eat, but be wary, if you are a foreign tourist they will hunt you down. Every shop owner will hoot and holler at you to come see what they have... Gets pretty old after a while especially if you are not accustomed to that. If you see something you like, you can most likely get it for half of what they ask, if not walk away and try another shop, they all have similar items and want to make a sell. It's worth checking out for an hour or two, any more and you'll lose your mind... For that 3 stars.
  • It's a fun place to shop and spend the day walking around shopping, eating, and drinking and enjoying all that the market has to offer. Everyone sells the same things, though, and they heavely compete with each other for sales. It's a little uncomfortable having all the merchants coming at you at once as you browse around the marketplace, and they compete and haggle for your dollars, but you can get some pretty good deals there. One of my favorite foods was the homemade popsicles. They were great, and there was a lot of varieties to choose from. I ate at on of the restaurants there, and the food and the service was really good.
  • A good market lots of options. Unfortunately full of hard sellers who made us want to leave earlier as it got too much. I wish they would just say welcome and then leave us to browse on our own as the forceful ones just made us want to leave. They try with very high prices but there are a few that have reasonable honest prices.
  • If you want yo pay for over priced souvenirs and hard liquor come here! Exaggerating prices for statues and masks you can buy way cheaper somewhere else! Anywhere else! Even alcohol is expensive here! $100 for D'Aristi a local drink you can purchase for $15 at your hotel! Are you kidding me! Dont go here. Go to Mercado 23 were the locals go instead!
  • Wonderful place to eat buy and hang out. I wouldn't miss it. It is easy walk to here from the bus stop and don't be fooled. You will be let off a few blocks shy of the actual real Mercado 28. It is a short walk from the market back to the bus stop at Walmart. Great food and great places to shop. Good prices.
