  • Balamku is a few kilometers further to the West than the exit to Calakmul on highway 186. Balamku exit to the North clearly signposted. You can fine with own transport back and the parking is free, although a small gratuity is due. Access to the site is 40 pesos pp. It's a small site with some nice ruins, where you also on The spectacle, however, is the gigantic Mag. beautiful Frisian (sculpture) in the main pyramid. Ask the supervisor to open the space for you. He'll give you like explanation, but no one on the entire site speaks English (no not a little), so beyond a few core words came we don't. Amazing that we were the only visitors at that time, what a rest. A detour to Balamku including travel time will cost you no more than an hour and it is therefore an ideal appetizer if you visit Calakmul.

  • The site in him even n is not more (between 30/45 minutes to make the round) but the fresco la Pirámide houses is amazing. Although destroyed by time and flights, you can observe for once has what look like decoration outside of the Mayan temples. For reasons of security l INAH has rebuilt the pyramid from above the fresco to be able to keep it and control. What is the major advantage of the mounds site are overgrown by the jungle but you can observe a few houses l balamku elite and two temples.
