Create an itinerary including Chileno Beach
Discover Chileno Beach, a beautiful, clean, white sand beach that sits off the beaten track. If you’re new to snorkeling or are teaching children, this makes a great place to start, with its calm waters and lifeguard on duty. Explore a bay filled with diverse tropical fish, which have been tamed by human interaction, or explore the rocky outcrops in the periphery, looking for crabs and snails. Consider bringing some snacks, plenty of water, some water shoes, and your own shade. Also, consider visiting on a weekday, as the fairly small beach can get busy during the weekend. • Great Beach! to swim and snorkeling is nice too. Most of the Los Cobos area is not swimmable, but this beach is fine. Also, the water is clear so you can see all the fish swimming around you too.

  • Great beach that has TONS of fish up close. By the time you get to knee height water you'll be able to see a bunch of species of fish up close. Be aware that there isn't a boardwalk/food at this...

  • Nice bathrooms/showers at the entrance and after going to Medano beach, it was a breath of fresh air without vendors asking you to buy something every few minutes. It was also quiet because there...

  • Beautiful, white sand beach with a public bathroom and lifeguard station. There were several boats with snorkelers but it wasn’t too crowded on the beach during Spring Break.
  • Chileno bay is the perfect spot your snorkeling adventures. However, be aware of the beach warning flags. When I went in, I did not pay attention to the jellyfish flag and sure enough, I got stung by them and let me tell you it burned really good. Had not been for the jellyfish in the water that day, it would have been perfect.
  • About $15US Uber from San Jose del Cabo one-way. Clear water, real bathrooms, umbrella and chair rentals ($14 and $6 each). Swimmable and good snorkel, but really only need regular cheap swim goggles not full snorkel gear because tons of fish just swim right up to everyone very near shore at waist deep; can even see fish just standing up looking into water. Decently busy on a Thursday afternoon in late August, so likely very busy during tourist season, but for good reason.
  • Quiet. No peddlers. Great snorkeling. Bathrooms and showers available.
  • Beautiful beach, however no life guards on duty when we went. The waves can get a little strong. Make sure to bring your umbrella and snacks. Just a beautiful place to relax and soak in some sun!!
