Vallarta Botanical Gardens, Cabo Corrientes

4.7
#1 of 44 in Parks in Jalisco
Inspect a wonderfully vibrant variety of plants at Vallarta Botanical Gardens, an environmentally minded site set on 8 ha (20 ac) of native forest and perfectly manicured landscape. Hike the extensive trails through the flora, and keep one eye on the canopy looking out for exotic birds, especially at the beginning or end of the day. It's worth bringing some bug spray and considering wearing long trousers and sleeves to protect against biting insects. Be sure to bring some swimwear and a towel so you can cool off with a dip in the Rio Horcones. • Such a wonderful getaway from the crowded town. This place is the perfect place to relax, hike, observe the nature. We admired the countless types of orchids, cactuses, cocoa & coffee trees, among colorful butterflies and delicate hummingbirds. The entire experience was paired perfectly with the delicious food of the restaurant, served by friendly staff. Even my moody teenager got to enjoy it!
  • Without a doubt one of the true gems in the Puerto Vallarta area. A real oasis full of beautiful plants ranging from manicured flowers to untamed rainforest--great spot also for birds and butterflies. Many of the trails qualify as genuinely steep (if short) hikes so you can get a workout at the same time. Don't forget your trunks so you can cool off in the river. Also treat yourself to a drink and a snack at the restaurant: it's well worth it.
  • Very beautiful Botanical Garden! I love how the restaurant looked over the river and the valley with a scenic overlook of the mountains. The food was incredible, with the service being even more amazing. Our waiter, AndrĂ©, catered to all of our needs and went above and beyond what we were use too. Plus the drive up there was very scenic.
  • Great place to see some of the most fantastic vegetation flowers cactus orchids is also a nice restaurant some walking paths along the jungle like forest and also paths down to the river where you can swim if you prefer although the river is a little bit small but on balance the place is fantastic to visit and well worth taking the time if you like botanical gardens
  • Seemed a little pricy at 200 pesos/person. But the grounds were well-maintained and the staff friendly. Would highly suggest bringing your swimsuit and swimming in the river. Restaurant was also good.
