  • Perfect place to spend the day, go early as they open at 9am. Rent a hut for about 20 USD, well worth it if your planning on spending a few hrs. Amazing place for viewing a wide variety of fish.
  • Very nice place for snorkeling quietly and with a large enough space. Well organized with cabins for changing, showers, toilet, small corner restaurant and everything can be rented. I think that taking a life jacket is a good idea because it is more relaxing. Total cost for 2 adults + 2 life vests + 1 locker = 700 pesos. It is best to get there early otherwise tour operators come with groups of 10-15 people and we meet so to admire schools of snorkelers rather than fish :) The place is really beautiful, not far from the beach of Akumal (~ 70 pesos by taxi) and so combine the two on a morning is really a good idea! There are 4-5 cabins to sit in the shade and in hammocks, is probably not enough but we can also take advantage of flat rocks.

  • The entrance fee is not excessive but if you bring your fins and snorkel, so you pay them. The situation is fantastic a series of interconnected and passable only by swimming. The basin is surrounded by mangroves. I went snorkeling in other parts of the world and the backdrop is not that much, but for Mexico it is ok. The water wasn't clear, I don't know if it's always like that, or because the night before was raining.
