Trou aux Cerfs, Mauritius
(1.8/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Visit Trou aux Cerfs to see the crater of the dormant volcano and views across the island. Standing 605 m (1,985 ft) above sea level, the volcano enjoys a thick covering of vegetation, offering good routes for nature walks. The view from the top affords an extensive panorama of the island from an atmospheric vantage point. The plants growing in the crater make it an interesting natural sight on an island that owes so much of its scenery to volcanic activity. Note that access to the crater itself is along a dangerously steep embankment, so you should not attempt to descend into it. • A place preserved close to civilization. Obviously the municipality of Curepipe has understood that exceptional sites backup was a tourist asset by banning vehicular traffic and providing visitors picnic tables you garbage.

  • Personally I don't find any interest in visiting this place. It's a simple water hole. Off course the view is beautiful, but it stops there.
