1.8/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web
Visit Trou aux Cerfs to see the crater of the dormant volcano and views across the island. Standing 605 m (1,985 ft) above sea level, the volcano enjoys a thick covering of vegetation, offering good routes for nature walks. The view from the top affords an extensive panorama of the island from an atmospheric vantage point. The plants growing in the crater make it an interesting natural sight on an island that owes so much of its scenery to volcanic activity. Note that access to the crater itself is along a dangerously steep embankment, so you should not attempt to descend into it. • Rainy over cast day so not much to see. Over cast day and too much foliage. Can see it was a volcanic crater but if you are short like my wife you cant see much.
  • It is a visit for a panoramic view. From the top you see the old crater with water at the bottom and lots of vegetation. It is beautiful.

  • I don't even understand the taxis to take us here. It's a hole with a puddle of water, nothing else! Those who expect to see a volcano crater will be very very disappointed... maybe that the view is worth the trip, but unfortunately when we went everything was covered. I do not recommend you to go for the "crater" in all cases
