Grand Baie Beach, Riviere du Rempart
(2.7/5 based on 45+ reviews on the web)
With the town's main street as its backdrop and a bay full of docked fishing boats, Grand Baie Beach makes for a scenic stroll. Along the way, you'll take in some classic elements of Mauritian culture: the food vendors, the fruit stands, and the locals playing cards and games of dominoes. At the end of the beach, near the fish market, check out the arrival of the day's catch. This well-maintained area has plenty of benches, or you can grab yourself a spot on the warm sand for a touch of sunbathing. The beach does feature a limited swimming area, but it's not the main attraction, as the moored boats dominate the water. Put Grand Baie Beach and other Riviere du Rempart attractions into our Riviere du Rempart tour planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • I live near the beach of grand Bay during my stay and I was very disappointed to see that the beach is lined with buoy which limits the possibilities of swimming for an adult and, because of many boats. The beach is inhabited by a pack of just wandering, we have not been bitten I assure you that's not reassuring to see mail in group in abboyant from one end of the beach to the other. My wife and I had raised our towel and our shirt to bathe us and while we were s in water, a dog to pee on our business to mark its territory. It is unacceptable for the hygiene of tourists but also about the health risks. There are many other beaches in Mauritius, this one is far from being at the top. I defer more feet. Word of 3-noeils

  • lovely beach, white sand, clear blue sea and peaceful, immersed in silence and nature. I highly recommend a visit to this beach, especially if you want to relax. only caution: the vendors are a bit expensive for lunch, but once in more than good go Tan trackstop (advice to those who might be close by them and thinks of going there everyday!) ah, I also recommend a close there are also some nice hotels that allow you to enter! recommended the apertivo board sea or morning breakfast!
