  • This museum is dated, dusty, but he has so much charm. Its location is convenient and ca actually advises a crossing point during a visit to Port Louis. His garden is nice with some very attractive artists dodos.

  • Called in last September for an hour or so. We're interested in natural history so found the museum very interesting, as it was our only opportunity to see the endemic wildlife even if they were stuff...  more »
  • Free entry to the Museum of natural history in the vicinity of the Banyan of the garden of the company of Port Louis. It's an opportunity to put a name to the birds, fish and shellfish of the island but also to discover the remnants of the decimated by the first Dutch, the dodo bird. A film tells the excavations and a crowd of engravings decorates the premises.

  • Small, but perfectly formed. It is housed in what looks like an old colonial house, with tall ceilings. Good exhibits on the Dodo and the history of the island. I liked the multicoloured Dodos in the grounds. It only takes 30-60 minutes to look around. Well worth seeing.
  • The only natural history museum in Mauritius. Not very dynamic but very interesting nevertheless. The whale seems very artificial now, after all these years of painting and repainting.
  • A little gem that has a really good collection of local specimens of species still with us and many that, unfortunately, are no longer.
  • Rememdering my childwood
  • Very nice place to document yourself away from the noise and hot weather of the capital. Entery is free but there's no assistance at all.
